Amber Alfano is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Colorado, Boulder and is a recipient of the AICPA Foundation’s Accounting Doctoral Scholars Program grant. Amber earned her Master’s of Accounting and Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Florida in 2007. Amber’s research interests are in the tax attributes of international mergers and in firms’ uses of the research and development tax credit. Prior to pursuing her Ph.D., Amber was a CPA in the corporate tax division of Ernst & Young, LLC. While at Ernst & Young, Amber focused on Real Estate Investment Trust clients, research projects in the Information Withholding and Reporting, and special projects in international tax.
