Passing the CPA Exam the first time around is notoriously difficult – the pass rate was under 50 percent in 2017. So it’s especially rare to score 95.5 out of 100 across all four parts of the exam on the first attempt. Eric Hauptman, a Leeds School of Business graduate (MSAcct’17), is one of the very few who did just that (58 out of 95,858). To recognize this uncommon achievement, Hauptman has received the Elijah Watt Sells Award from the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA).

Hauptman is a graduate of the MS Accounting program, which maintains the #1 CPA Exam pass rate in Colorado. Its graduates also score 10 percent higher than the national average.
