1. If I havent received my PLUS Loan refund and I recently moved, where can I update my address?
You should contact the Office of Financial Aid to update your address. A representative from financial aid will contact the appropriate individual in the Bursars Office with your new information. A PLUS Loan refund will then be re-issued to the correct address on file.
2. How do I get my PLUS Loan refund released to my student?
Contact the Office of Financial Aid and inform them of your request. You will be asked to fill out a PLUS Release Form.
3. How long does it take to receive my refund if I dont want it released to my student?
If excess funds are to be released to the parent and not the student, it will take 3-4 weeks additional processing time for the funds to be sent to you.
4. How do I request an increase in my PLUS Loan amount?
To inquire about a PLUS Loan increase, contact the Office of Financial Aid at 303-492-5091 or finaid@colorado.edu.
5. I want to cancel my PLUS Loan. Who do I contact?
To cancel your PLUS Loan, you must contact the Office of Financial Aid at 303-492-5091. If you have already received a refund, you may be required to pay back the portion you previously received.
6. Where do I find information about signing my PLUS Loan promissory note?
You can either contact the Office of Financial Aid at 303-492-5091 or go to their website for more information.
7. The PLUS Loan refund amount is on the bill and I havent received my check. Why?
If the amount of your PLUS Loan refund is on your bill and you still have not received the check, the following may have happened. You may have moved and not contacted the Office of Financial Aid with your address change. It is reasonable to allow at least five business days to receive your refund after our office mails them off. Your refund may have been rejected due to a returned address or mailbox reject.
8. When was the refund mailed?
To find out when your refund was mailed, please contact the Bursars Office at 303-492-5381 or bursar@colorado.edu and a Student Billing Representative can assist you with this information.
9. Why does it take so long to receive my refund?
PLUS loan amounts are generated in the Office of Financial Aid. That office then forwards the parents information to the Bursars office. A representative from the Bursars Office will debit the students account and send paperwork to the Procurement Service Center (PSC). PSC is responsible for issuing the refund in the form of a check to the parent.
10. Can I take out a parent PLUS Loan even if my student has been offered other loans?
Contact the Office of Financial Aid at 303-492-5091or finaid@colorado.edu and a representative will assist you with this question.
11. Can I have my PLUS Loan refund direct deposited into my bank account?
The university does not currently offer direct deposit as an option for PLUS Loan refunds.
For information about your Parent PLUS Loan refund, contact the Office of Financial Aid at 303-492-5091or finaid@colorado.edu.
