Read our refund policy.

1. When can I get my refund?
If you are signed up for direct deposit and there is a credit on your bill on CUConnect, refunds are processed weeknights. Depending on your bank, your deposit should be in your account in 1-3 business days.
2. When I sign up for direct deposit, can the university withdraw money for tuition and fee charges?
  • No. Setting up direct deposit to your bank only gives us permission to deposit money into your account.
  • If you want to pay your tuition and fee charges electronically from your bank account, go to the "Make Payment" link on CUConnect and enter your banking information.
3. Why did my refund not show up in my bank account after I signed up for direct deposit?

This may be due to one of the following reasons:

  • You are an athlete and are not eligible for direct deposit due to the NCAA regulations. Contact OFA at finaid@colorado.edu.
  • You have a miscellaneous financial stop on your account that is preventing a refund. Contact the Bursar's Office at bursar@colorado.edu.
  • You are a Continuing Education or ACCESS student and are not eligible for direct deposit. Contact ce.bursar@colorado.edu.
  • You are not a current student. Refunds for former students are deposited once a week.
  • The banking information that you submitted is incorrect, or your financial institution account type is not eligible for ACH electronic refund deposits. Verify your information on CUConnect and/or contact your bank.
4. I have withdrawn from school, when do I get my refund?

Enrollment deposits and any other refunds, less any outstanding debt, are directly deposited approximately four weeks after the end of the withdrawal period in which you withdrew. They cannot be released before that time.

5. When do I receive my residence hall housing deposit refund?

Housing deposit refunds will be directly deposited around mid June. For more information please contact the Housing and Reservations Department at reservations@housing.colorado.edu .

6. I just graduated, when do I receive my enrollment deposit refund?

If you've graduated, keep your bank account information updated so you get your enrollment deposit refund as quickly as possible.

  • December graduates: Enrollment deposit refunds, less any outstanding debt, will be directly deposited on or around the first week of February.
  • May graduates: Enrollment deposit refunds, less any outstanding debt, will be directly deposited on or around the first week of July.
7. I received a refund and now I have a bill. Why?

Refunds reflect your current account activity on main campus. You may be assessed future charges if you change your schedule, enroll in a waitlisted class, or receive a financial aid adjustment. If you are enrolled in Continuing Education classes, you have a separate bill that may still need to be paid. Please monitor your account on CUConnect and be aware that you are responsible for payment of future charges and Continuing Education charges.
