Welcome to the Bursar's Office! We look forward to serving you during your educational career at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

"Bursar" is a latin term meaning "purse." The bursar bills and collects tuition, fees, campus housing, and other university related charges. We are here to provide you with excellent service and information. This web page is intended to help you understand who we are and what we do for you.

 

Here are some general tips on how we operate:

  • Know when payment is due and make sure you understand our payment and refund policies.
  • Even if your parents pay your bill, the bill is in YOUR name and YOU are responsible for making sure it gets paid.
  • We send official communication to students via e-mail at your colorado.edu addresses.
  • Always read your colorado.edu e-mails.

If you have questions, please call or e-mail us. We wish you a happy and successful experience during your time at CU!

Mission

Our goal is to promote and nurture an environment that maximizes the individual abilities of each staff member to provide excellent customer service to our constituents and contribute to the university’s goals. We emphasize a visible commitment to creating opportunities for personal and professional growth, and for each staff person to achieve full potential unhindered by group identities such as mental and physical abilities, age, class, educational level, ethnicity, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, etc.

We seek to improve communication, enhance creativity, and promote teamwork to cultivate the relationship between diversity in the work place and job performance. We wish to nurture a campus community that respects and values all the characteristics that make people unique and different. Everyone is encouraged to advance toward recognizing the uniqueness and prejudices within themselves, as well as valuing the contribution that each can make.
