You owe money for any of the following:
An exit counseling interview is a federal mandated regulation. If you borrowed a Federal Perkins loan and have left school, even for a semester or a time out, you have to complete an exit interview which will provide you with repayment information about your loan.
If you can't pay anything toward your bill, your account will first go to in-house collections. If, after one year, you have not paid or set up a satisfactory payment arrangement, your account will be placed with the State of Colorado Central Collection Service (CCS) in accordance with Colorado law. Your account will then be reported to national credit bureaus as a collection account
Stops are not removed until the balance is paid in full, and service charges continue to accrue at rate of 1 percent per month.
If you're still charged, it is likely that you did not formally withdraw by the deadline published in the registrar's website . Contact the Office of the Registrar for instructions on how to retroactively withdraw; then, petition the Bursar's Office regarding your tuition charges.

CCS stands for the state of Colorado Central Collection Service. We place outstanding accounts and loans with CCS after one year. CCS is a collection agency which reports these accounts to national credit bureaus.
In-school, economic hardship, unemployment, and forbearance are the most commonly requested deferments. Call us to find out how to apply.
