Odometers of Time: 2012 is NOT the End

The Maya of Central America were masters at tracking movements of planets, identifying phases of the Moon and Sun, and predicting eclipses. They did not, however, foretell the end of the world.

To sort fact from fiction, archaeologist and epigrapher Inga Calvin discusses the writing and calendar systems used by the Maya from AD 200-909.
