Be part of the education dean search advisory committee—nominations due March 31

CU Boulder Provost Russell Moore is soliciting nominations for the School of Education’s dean search advisory committee, to be chaired by Katherine Eggert, vice chancellor and senior vice provost for academic planning and assessment. Nominations and self-nominations for the search committee are due by March 31.

“We are seeking search committee members who understand how higher education landscapes are changing, who are well-integrated into the school’s commitment to inclusion and equity, and who understand the importance of the school’s vitality and interconnectedness with the CU Boulder campus and the communities associated with  it,” said Moore.

The search advisory committee will be composed of faculty, staff and students from the School of Education, along with representatives from other academic units. The committee’s role is to generate a strong pool of candidates and advise the provost of those candidates best qualified to meet the needs of the School of Education and the university.

The provost plans to seat the committee in mid-April and launch a national search during the summer with the goal of naming a new dean in early 2025.

Each visit lasts two hours and will be compensated at $20 per hour. You will earn a bonus of $20 for attending both visits (up to $100 total).

Submit book and course material info for fall—due March 31

Instructors have received ongoing email communications requesting book and course materials information for Fall 2024 courses. As a reminder, campus policy states that departments are required to identify what books and other course materials are required (or if a course will have no required materials or courses that will utilize open education resources) for their classes by the day of registration.

Getting accurate information from instructors is critical to the success of the CU Book Access program, which provides degree-seeking undergraduate students access to their required course materials by the first day of class for a flat rate each semester, and also ensures the timely distribution of course materials for graduate students.

The CU Book Store has designated a staff member to facilitate any faculty needs Ryan Windle: ryan.windle@colorado.edu, 303-492-3421.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this faculty responsibility.
