AIA Lecture - Bison Hunting as a Social Institution: A Bird's Eye View

Sat., Feb. 2, 7 p.m.
Through a bird's eye view of the late prehistoric ancestral Blackfoot hunting tradition of the Northwest Plains, it is now possible to recast bison hunting as an institution based on religious principles and corporate forms of social and political control. AIA guest lecturer, Maria Nieves Zedeno of the University of Arizona, will be presenting on new insights into the traditional bison hunt of the northwestern Plains at Hale Science this weekend.
