Handshake is your new centralized hub to search for on-campus student employment, making it easier to find on-campus jobs. This includes hourly and work-study positions.

Each CU Boulder undergraduate and graduate student already has a Handshake account, regardless of their major or year, so start searching! Remember, you will need to be logged into your account to view posted jobs.

If you are looking for a summer job, continue checking CU Boulder Student Jobs through your Buff Portal. If you're already thinking about fall employment, start planning ahead, because no later than July 1, CU Boulder Student Jobs will be phased out and Handshake will become the main hub for on-campus student employment.

With projects in a wide range of fields, there are many possibilities to connect with meaningful research experiences—and empowering teams. Projects are supported by UROP funding and typically provide financial support to student participants.

Campus Dining Services is growing plants in the Williams Village greenhouse that will be available for purchase to students, faculty and staff for $5 each. Plants can be picked up on May 1, 4-7 p.m., and May 7, 1-4 p.m. at the Grotto in the Village Center.

Arts & Sciences Honors and UROP invite undergraduates to share their research and creative presentations with chalk on campus walkways at the spring 2024 Sidewalk Symposium. Undergraduates at any stage of their project timeline are invited to participate in this semester's Sidewalk Symposium by creating colorful visual presentations of their projects using nothing but chalk—all in collaboration with a professional artist. 

Undergraduate students who would like to present their research or creative works at the symposium should apply by Monday, April 29, at 8 a.m. Applications to participate will be reviewed for compliance with university policy and suitability for the event.

Eligibility requirements to present research include:

• CU Boulder undergraduates engaged in campus research and creative projects are encouraged to participate.
• Participants must be working (or completed work) under the supervision of a CU Boulder faculty or staff mentor.
• Students may participate as a group and should submit the application form once (with all students named).

The symposium will be held on Tuesday, April 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the VAC Plaza. Rain location will be the CU Art Museum, Education Room.

During maintenance that affects the portals, such as the maintenance scheduled for Saturday, April 20, remember that you can directly access Canvas and some other services that are provided through the portals.

All faculty on 9-month contracts, whether they have selected the academic year pay schedule or the 12-month pay schedule, are encouraged to use the contract calculator to calculate their monthly pay for the upcoming academic year. 
 

Handshake is now available for supervisors to post student employment opportunities. While the full transition from Student Jobs to Handshake will happen no later than July 1, supervisors are encouraged to start learning about the transition and posting to Handshake now.

Did you know that stretching can impact even the muscles you didn't stretch?

The Neurophysiology of Movement Laboratory is conducting a study to evaluate how stretching affects the neuromuscular function of the non-stretched muscles.

We are looking for healthy men between 18 and 55 years, without neurological impairments or recent lower-limb injuries. The study involves a two-hour visit to our lab on the CU Boulder Main Campus.

The University Libraries has signed a new contract with the academic publisher Elsevier that achieves a 30% cost reduction from the current contract, along with changes in how users will access some journal articles.

PhD students must submit the dissertation with Thesis Approval Form (TAF) to ProQuest.

PhD and DMA students must fill out the Survey of Earned Doctorates (SED) online.

Master's students must complete the thesis defense or final examination by this date. Notice of the examination must be provided to the Graduate School using the master's final examination form two weeks before the exam.

Doctoral grade changes must be submitted for incomplete courses taken during previous or current semesters.

Having friends over? Register your party to lessen your chances of receiving an expensive ticket. By registering your party with Off-Campus Housing & Neighborhood Relations, the registrant will get a 20-minute warning before police officers arrive if your residence receives a noise complaint.

The CU Boulder Sustainability Council is a cross-campus group of students, faculty and staff established in 2022. The council’s purpose is to make recommendations regarding policies, programs, initiatives and investments to advance sustainability. These recommendations augment the work of the more recently formed Campus Sustainability Executive Council.

The Sustainability Council invites the CU Boulder community to attend an in-person open forum during their upcoming meeting on April 12 from 9 to 10:10 a.m. in Kittredge Central Multipurpose Room B. After introductions from the council, individuals will be invited to ask questions and propose sustainability ideas beyond the Climate Action Plan (which is being led by a different group). Comments should be kept to three minutes or less to allow for the maximum number of participants.
