'For the Health of It - With Pleasure'

Join the WRC and Community Health on Feb. 12 from 3-4 p.m. in UMC 416 for a workshop that explores issues related to healthy relationships and sexuality. Information on sexual health, contraception and sexually transmitted infections (STI’s) is included. Discussion focuses on stigma related to sexuality and STI’s along with the roles of negotiation, and consent as they relate to relationships and sexual behavior. We will be giving out free safe-sex materials, along with condom crafts and cupcakes.

'Wait Your Turn: Recognizing and Interrupting Sexism'

This interactive 90-minute training is designed for staff and faculty on the CU-Boulder campus. During the training, participants will engage in small and large group discussions to help identify examples of sexism in their lives or in an institution they participate in. They will also learn strategies for interrupting sexism.

    Film screenings: 'The Land of Many Palaces' and 'Mountain Town'

    In "The Land of Many Palaces," co-directors Adam Smith and Song Ting chronicle the transformation associated with rapid urbanization in the Inner Mongolian city of Ordos. The film follows a government official who must convince local farmers that their lives will be better off in the city, and a farmer in one of the last remaining villages in the region who is pressured to move. Smith will also offer a preview screening his new film, "Mountain Town." Free and open to the public. CAS Speaker Series. Thursday, Feb. 12, 4 p.m., Chemistry 142.

    Sneak peek - Anonymous: Contemporary Tibetan Art exhibit at CU Art Museum

    Ariana Maki will discuss the upcoming exhibition at the CU Art Museum, Anonymous: Contemporary Tibetan Art. This exhibit highlights photography, painting, sculpture and digital video created since 2008. This luncheon talk highlights some of the artworks and artists involved in Anonymous, and how they express perspectives on modernization, global culture, the commodification of Buddhism, and the search for the self.
