Arvada family seeking caregiver for summer

An Arvada family needs a childcare provider for the summer, primarily for the 2-year-old, and also for the weeks when the 7- and 10-year-old kids are not in camp. Must love kids! Our ideal match will meet the requirements below. Some light tidying up would be part of our caregiver's responsibilities. We do have pets, so please consider that when applying.

Engaged Arts and Humanities Scholars accepting applications, due March 17

This two-year program is for graduate students in the arts, humanities and other programs  who use the methods/archives of the arts and humanities in their scholarship.

Participants will join a community of learners who focus on the co-design of mutually beneficial projects with partners outside of the university in  Colorado communities. Students will receive a $5,000 stipend over two years and up to $1,000 in project funding. 

The application deadline for the 2024–26 cohort is Sunday, March 17.

Grad students: Don't miss the graduation regalia order deadline March 27

If you’re graduating with your master’s or doctoral degree, you will wear a black gown and a hood lined with velvet trim denoting your field of study. Master’s students will wear a mortarboard cap and a black tassel. Doctoral students will wear a tam and a gold tassel.

You can purchase your regalia from Jostens online. The deadline for ordering is Wednesday, March 27, at 11:59 p.m. MDT. 

Grad students: Deadline to apply to graduate this spring is March 1

Graduate students, mark your calendars for these approaching graduation deadlines for spring 2024.

Graduate students must apply online to graduate by March 1 through Buff Portal on the “apply for graduation” card in order to have the degree awarded in May. This is required whether you plan to attend the university-wide ceremony or not. 

Doctoral students must enter their dissertation title as part of the online graduation application; you may update the title through the portal until this date. This title will appear on your transcript after your degree is awarded.

​Additionally, master's students who have not done so must submit to the Graduate School a Candidacy Application for an Advanced Degree by March 1. Applications follow a workflow process and must be approved by the academic department before they are directed to the Graduate School.

Sign up for Colorado CarShare, get a $25 ride credit

CU has partnered with Xcel Energy and Colorado CarShare to bring fully electric car share vehicles to campus. The first vehicle is available in Williams Village, and two additional EVs will be available in Smiley Court and Athens North in the future.

Plus, students will receive a waived membership fee and $25 in ride credit, and faculty and staff will receive $25 in ride credit—learn more and access discounts.

Study exploring sense of belonging in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience

Research participants wanted! The current study aims to gather information and insights regarding sense of belonging from students at CU Boulder, with an emphasis on students who are studying within the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience. 

The results of this study will inform any changes that may need to be implemented or programs that need to be developed to enhance student sense of belonging within the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience and at CU Boulder. 

You must be a current CU Boulder undergraduate and 18 years or older. Participants will be compensated up to $40.

Research study: Using AI-based chatbot to complete tasks

CAIRO Lab is looking for participants for a study on using an AI-based chatbot to complete tasks. You must be a CU Boulder student who is over 18 years old, and you will receive $15 for participating in a 45- to 60-minute-long study.

  • Title of research: AI Chatbot User Study
  • Institution conducting research: CU Boulder Collaborative AI and Robotics Lab
  • Eligibility: CU Boulder students over 18 years old

The purpose of this research is to improve the implementation and use of chatbots that are based on artificial intelligence. Our goal is to make chatbots more usable by everyone, including for work, school and general information. As chatbots become more common, we hope to find ways to implement them safely and conscientiously.

Earn your engineering management or entrepreneurship minor in Lisbon this fall!

Calling all CU engineering students! Education Abroad has a new program just for you. CU Boulder’s first ever full-length semester faculty-led program, the Global Semester: ESCEND Engineering Management/Entrepreneurship Minor program is running this fall in Lisbon, Portugal. The application deadline for fall 2024 is March 1.

The ESCEND program is a unique opportunity for you to complete either the engineering management or entrepreneurship minor while living in the beautiful city of Lisbon. Gain critical business management and entrepreneurial skills and a broader knowledge of a “world where engineers are expected to understand the technical, economic and managerial aspects of projects.”

Studying abroad in Lisbon offers a unique and enriching experience with academic, cultural and personal growth opportunities. Create connections with local students and experts through site visits and field trips. 

Most classes are taught seminar-style to encourage discussion and interaction, and include guest lecturers to bring in fresh insight and expertise. You will enroll in the following classes, all of which count as required or elective courses for both minors:

  • EMEN 4030: Project Management
  • EMEN 4100: Engineering Economics
  • EMEN 4800: Technology Ventures and Marketing
  • EMEN 4820: Entrepreneurial Product Development

The coursework will be supplemented with an internship placement, allowing for hands-on application and meaningful connection-building.

Once your form is complete, email it to cusg.elections@colorado.edu and you will be sent a petition form to begin collecting signatures from CU students. If you reach the signature threshold for your position and submit the petition form by March 4, you will be added to the spring election ballot!
