Student Arts Program
The Student Arts Program collects original art created by the CU Boulder student community and displays it throughout the UMC and the Rec Center. We are looking for original pieces in the following media: painting, drawing, sculpture, textile, printing and photography/film/technology. Awards will be given for top submissions. Artwork is reviewed by a panel of judges that decides which artwork is accepted into the program and where that artwork will be displayed. The UMC covers the cost of framing, hanging and securing the artwork. Deadline to submit: Jan. 21, 2022

Give money—not goods—to support Marshall Fire victims. Here's how

A heart shape is seen in a flower in a field.

Many sites aimed at helping victims of the Marshall Fire have been overwhelmed with physical donations and can no longer take personal or household items. At this time, Boulder County emergency response managers encourage financial support of those impacted by the fire. If you are interested in volunteering, please connect with Colorado Responds or the campus Volunteer Resource Center. Additional opportunities to support colleagues, friends, family members and others affected by the fire will be shared as opportunities become available.

For those who wish to donate at this time:

Law enforcement warns people should be wary of possible giving scams. Learn more on the Boulder Office of Emergency Management website. The Office of Information Security has more information to keep you safe online.

Helpful guidance from a professional counselor is available in 9 ways to support someone who lost their home to a fire.

Call for programs: Women’s Leadership Symposium

Join us as a presenter at the 2022 Women’s Leadership Symposium! This year’s theme is Filling Each Other’s Cups: Collaboration and Compassion

The symposium seeks to explore a variety of ways women/women-identified individuals build their leadership skills and feel empowered to become tomorrow’s leaders. We are especially interested in proposals that will intentionally address the needs and interests of student audiences as part of the submission. Intergenerational or multi-audience proposals are also highly valued.

We encourage staff and students to collaborate on proposal submissions that address our key themes:

  • Describe gendered challenges present at CU and in the broader workplace.
  • Describe a leadership style or core tenet and how attendees can operationalize this style or tenet.
  • Connect knowledge and skills to future professional pursuits.

The deadline to submit is Jan. 7, 2022.
