UROP welcomes undergraduates at any stage of their project timeline to participate in this year's Sidewalk Symposium by creating colorful visual presentations of their projects using nothing but chalk. The roar of the crowd that is a Folsom Field staple will receive a boost this season with the addition of a state-of-the-art sound system that will be tested for the first time Aug. 15–26.
Students and faculty returning to campus for the fall semester, as well as community members in the proximity of the stadium, are likely to hear a variety of noises during that testing period, including music, that at times will be loud. These tests are necessary to ensure the system is completely functional in time for the first football game of the season. Testing will begin at 8 a.m. and will generally be concluded by 5 p.m. daily.
“These much-needed and long overdue sound system improvements will greatly enhance the visitor experience not just for football games but any event at Folsom Field,” said Jason DePaepe, CU Boulder deputy athletic director. “From an entertainment standpoint, as well as providing important PA messaging, this new sound system will make attending an event at Folsom Field even more exciting.”
Fans will be able to hear the new fully functional sound system for themselves when the CU Buffs begin their 2022 football season at Folsom Field on Sept. 2 against TCU.

CU Boulder Provost Russell Moore today announced the campus is launching a national search for a new dean of the Leeds School of Business, with the goal of announcing a hire no later than the spring semester of 2023.
“We are seeking an experienced, collaborative and visionary leader who can build on the many strengths of the Leeds School of Business for the benefit of our students, faculty, staff, alumni and all the school’s many stakeholders,” said Moore.
Moore said Keith Molenaar, the dean of the College of Engineering and Applied Science, will serve as the search advisory committee chair.
The search advisory committee will be composed primarily of faculty, staff, students and external constituents of the Leeds School of Business, along with representation from other academic units in support of the school.
Nominations and volunteers for the search committee will be accepted via email through the end of business on Thursday, Aug. 25.
Each year, per Board of Regents policy, the University of Colorado requires all employees to verify the accuracy of their sick and vacation leave in the employee portal. This year’s leave certification will run Aug. 8–Sept. 7.
All faculty, staff, student-employees, temporary staff and contracted lecturers will need to certify their leave.
The deadline to nominate someone for honorary degrees, university medals and distinguished service awards is Sept. 15. Each year, the University of Colorado Board of Regents, along with faculty members from each campus, award individuals with these awards.
Honorary degrees are the highest award the University of Colorado can bestow. It is the policy of the Board of Regents to award honorary degrees in recognition of outstanding achievement in one or more of the following areas: intellectual contributions, university service, public service and/or philanthropy.
University medals are awarded in recognition of those persons whose achievements and contributions are particularly associated with the university.
Distinguished service awards are awarded in recognition of achievements and contributions particularly associated with the state and/or nation.

Starting this semester, CU Denver will allow employees taking undergraduate courses to register seven calendar days prior to the first day of the semester or the first day of class, whichever is earlier. This brings all CU campuses into alignment, allowing registration seven days in advance for undergraduate and graduate courses.
Eligible CU faculty and staff can save on up to 9 credits per academic year (fall through summer) on any CU campus. Dependent assistance options vary based on the employee’s home campus and the campus in which the dependent attends.
