Construction begins on bicycle, pedestrian underpasses at 30th Street and Colorado Avenue

Beginning March 1 and lasting for approximately 18 months, travelers can anticipate delays at the 30th Street and Colorado Avenue intersection as crews construct two new bicycle and pedestrian underpasses and install additional intersection safety enhancements. Traffic impacts will vary by phase of work but will generally require traffic on 30th Street and Colorado Avenue to be reduced to one lane of travel in each direction near the intersection with left-turning lanes remaining open.

Join ASSETT's student book club in reading 'Range' by David Epstein

Range book cover

When people your age are already starting businesses or writing best-selling books, it’s easy to feel behind in some capacity.

ASSETT’s Student Technology Consultants are running an interactive book club on Range by David Epstein. We’ll address the myth of the early head start and the benefits of a “sampling period,” where one tries new things and builds range. Learn how this mindset can be more successful (and less stressful) than early specialization!

All four meetings will be held Monday nights, 7-8 p.m. MST, on Zoom. ASSETT will provide Kindle copies of Range to all participants, and the book club will meet on March 15, March 22, April 5 and April 19.

Interested participants should fill out this form. E-book codes are limited to 12 participants, all of whom must be a student of or enrolled in a course in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Students who miss the first meeting are still encouraged to reach out, since there may still be space!

Join our daylight saving time sleep study

If you wear the sleep watch for the 18 days and complete the daily sleep diary and weekly sleep questionnaire, you will be compensated up to $60. Email sleep.study@colorado.edu for details. Ask about the “Daylight Saving Time” study. Primary Investigator: Kenneth Wright Jr., PhD

Street drugs in Boulder County found to contain fentanyl

Boulder County Public Health was notified on Thursday, Feb. 4, of street drugs tainted with fentanyl in Boulder County. They are Xanax and Oxycodone 30 mg pills that are currently being circulated in the community, most probably from Mexico.

The pills contain fentanyl and pose an increased risk to the community, especially youth. Fentanyl is 50–100 times more potent than heroin, and significantly increases the risk of death from accidental overdose.
