CU Boulder seeks nominations for a dynamic academician and experienced administrator to serve as dean of the College of Arts and Sciences (A&S). In this leadership role of the university’s largest college, the dean is the primary advocate for the college’s broad liberal arts mission and the chief administrator of the three newly formed divisions within A&S. The position reports to the provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs.
The dean of the College of Arts and Sciences position in a newly configured college assumes a critical role in shaping the academic and administrative landscape of the campus, sustaining and increasing our reputation as a national research university, and in meeting our strategic imperatives.
“We are seeking an inspired leader with a deep commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion who can support and coordinate resources among three strong and autonomous divisional deans in CU Boulder’s largest college,” said Provost Russell Moore. “Our ideal candidate will have strong diplomatic and interpersonal communications skills, in addition to having strong management and logistical support skills.”
On July 28, the university announced members of the search committee, chaired by Sharon Matusik, dean of the Leeds School of Business and professor of strategy and entrepreneurship.

Each fall, the campus sends communications to share important information and meet federal notification requirements. Recently, students received eMemos on topics such as FERPA, discrimination and harassment, and voting. Over the coming week, you'll continue to receive annual reminders on topics concerning drug policy and conviction impacts, financial aid and the campus's safety and security report.

Journey Leaders are students within the New Student & Family Programs department that help welcome our newest class of CU Buffs to campus. As a Journey Leader you will gain valuable leadership experience while meeting new people and getting involved on campus.
Students who used to receive University of Colorado Police Department (CUPD) tickets for lower-level offenses or first-time infractions may now receive administrative citations which make it easier for students to make amends, save them a trip to court and save them money.
CUPD officers and residential service officials (RSOs) began the administrative citations program in May. Infractions eligible to receive the new administrative citation include minor in possession of drugs or alcohol, fake identification, unlawful conduct on public property, consumption of alcohol in public and other nonviolent or first-time offenses. Some minor traffic offenses are included as well.
After receiving non-traffic administrative citations, students will be referred to the CU Boulder Office of Student Conduct & Conflict Resolution (SCCR) for completion of a student conduct process, including possible participation in restorative justice programs or substance abuse programs. Administrative citations carry half the fine of a criminal citation.
The Graduate and Professional Student Government (GPSG) is committed to recognizing the work done by the graduate and professional BIPOC student community in antiracist community engagement, activism and involvement at CU Boulder. Therefore, GPSG will award the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Award to graduate and professional students each semester in recognition of their work. The purpose of this award is to encourage student activism in the areas of DEI which benefits the CU Boulder community.
For the fall 2021 semester, submissions related to Cultural Diversity / Diversity in the classroom / Racial justice are encouraged. However, submissions that do not fall under these themes will also be welcome.
