Don't miss the April 12 defense, exam and thesis submission deadlines

Important defense/exam and thesis submission deadlines are approaching for spring graduates on April 12:

  • PhD students must submit the dissertation with Thesis Approval Form by this deadline. The dissertation must be submitted electronically for review and approval by Graduate School staff by the end of the business day. The Thesis Approval Form (TAF) must be uploaded as a supplemental file with the dissertation in order for the submission to be complete. Students whose dissertations are received after this deadline, or those not submitted with the TAF, must apply to graduate at the following semester's commencement.
  • PhD and DMA students must fill out the Survey of Earned Doctorates (SED) online by this deadline. See additional information about the survey.
  • Master's students must complete the thesis defense or final examination by this date. Notice of the examination must be provided to the Graduate School by your academic unit two weeks before the exam on an examination report form. Certain units do not require an exam for non-thesis students. Please contact your department with any questions.

See what other academic deadlines are coming up for doctoral and master's students.

Microsoft multi-factor authentication coming to students April 8, with 14 days to register

Woman working on a computer.

To enhance the security of CU Boulder accounts, the Office of Information Technology is enabling multi-factor authentication (MFA) to protect Microsoft Office 365 applications. Starting April 8, all CU Boulder students will be enrolled in MFA and given 14 days to register. Details about how to register and get help will be emailed to students and are also included below.

One of the most common ways cybercriminals attack our campus is through collaboration services like Office 365. MFA helps protect you by adding an additional layer of security, making it harder for attackers to log in as if they were you. Your information is safer with MFA because thieves would need to steal both your password and your phone. MFA has been shown to block 99.9% of compromised-credential attacks, which in turn will help to safeguard the university’s data, finances and reputation.

If you have questions about multi-factor authentication, please check out the Multi-Factor Authentication FAQs or contact the IT Service Center at oithelp@colorado.edu or 303-735-4357.

Submit your short film to the Titan Film Festival

CU Boulder's Titan Production Club is excited to announce the first annual CU Boulder Student Film Festival! If you are a CU Boulder student and have a short film or project you would like to submit, please upload your video to your student Google Drive account and share them with UCBTitanProductions@colorado.edu.

The deadline for video submission is April 2.

We will be holding the festival on Thursday, April 14, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Visual Arts Complex, Room 1B20. We will be showcasing student productions, as well as productions the club has created such as Dingbats and our spring 2022 production Gluttony. After the showcase, the audience will pick their favorite film.

The festival is free to attend and submit to, but not all submissions may be included due to time restraints.
