Learn about ballot processing firsthand by attending a Boulder County Elections Division in-person tour at the Boulder County Ballot Processing Facility – 1750 33rd St. in Boulder (off Arapahoe). Tours take approximately 30 minutes:

• Friday, Nov. 3, 12:30 p.m.
• Saturday, Nov 4, 12:30 p.m.
• Monday, Nov 6, 12:30 p.m.

Strategic Relations and Communications is seeking undergraduates to participate in hour-long focus groups that will be held between Oct. 30 and Nov. 8. Those who participate have a chance to win one of ten $20 Amazon gift cards. 

We want to hear your opinions about how you receive your information and news at CU Boulder. Participation is confidential and all responses will be anonymous. The focus groups will be conveniently held on Zoom.

Starting Nov. 5, the Norlin Library Commons, located on the first floor, will be open until midnight Sunday through Thursday as part of a pilot to support student success and needs. The expanded hours will continue until the end of final exams on Dec. 20. 

Anyone entering after 11 p.m. will need a Buff OneCard to swipe in at the east entrance. The rest of Norlin will close at 11 p.m.

The Buff Pantry, CU Boulder's on-campus food pantry, is here to support all undergraduate and graduate students who are experiencing food insecurity.

Clients are welcome to visit the Buff Pantry one time per week and will receive approximately 20 pounds of food per visit. The Buff Pantry provides fresh produce; shelf-stable, refrigerated and frozen food; and personal care items at no cost to students. Food and personal care item selection will vary based on availability, donations and time of year.

The Buff Pantry is located in the University Memorial Center (UMC) basement 1B73, near the lower level of the CU Book Store and can be contacted via phone at 303-735-9863.

The city of Boulder is seeking community input on three transportation projects that aim to improve safety, increase mobility options and ease congestion for commuters along the major transportation corridors of Arapahoe Avenue, Baseline Road and Iris Avenue. 

The public is invited to:

• Learn more about planning and construction efforts underway 
• Comment on the improvements being considered
• Provide your input on the existing conditions you would like to see improved 

Colorado 7 (Arapahoe) Segment A

The CO 7 Corridor Segment A project is tackling transportation challenges on the East Arapahoe Avenue Corridor (between 28th Street and 63rd Street).

Watch the most recent online public meeting presentation video, and provide input through the community questionnaire on the existing conditions you’d like to see improved and the proposed improvements being considered.

Baseline Road Transportation Safety project

The Baseline Road Transportation Safety Project features new crosswalks, lane narrowing to slow vehicle speeds and green conflict markings and curb-separated bike lanes on Baseline between 28th Street and Foothills Parkway.

The city of Boulder Transportation and Mobility Department is asking for community feedback on Phase 1 improvements to inform Phase 2 until Oct. 31.

Iris Avenue Transportation Improvements Project 

The Iris Avenue Transportation Improvements Project will implement transportation improvements to make Iris Avenue between Broadway and 28th Street safer, more connected and more comfortable. 

Design will begin in early 2024 after community input and data is collected and analyzed. Share your ideas, thoughts and experiences walking, rolling and traveling on this corridor via the Iris Avenue Transportation Improvements Project questionnaire.

Do you still need 1 or 2 credits to graduate? Instead of taking a full 3-hour course, consider one (or two or three) of the new 1-credit hour communications classes to learn various business writing practices, gain familiarity with campaign planning and more.

Starting in spring 2024, the College of Media, Communication and Information (CMCI) is offering:

• COMM 4000-801 – Advanced Topics in Communication: Writing and Planning for Organizational Communication (Jan. 16 to Feb. 16)
• COMM 4000-802 – Advanced Topics in Communication: Internal Organizational Communication (Feb. 19 to March 22)
• COMM 4000-803 – Advanced Topics in Communication: External Organizational Communication (April 1 to May 2)

Launched in fall 2018, and previously housed within CU Boulder Education Abroad, the Peace Corps Prep program (PCP) has moved to the CU Boulder Center for Leadership.

The undergraduate certificate program offers future U.S. Peace Corps volunteer applicants sector-specific job skills, foreign language proficiency, intercultural competence and professional leadership development skills. The program is open to all CU Boulder undergraduates, regardless of their major, minor, department, academic year or participation in other programs.

As an official Peace Corps Prep program, earning the certificate is excellent preparation, and a likely advantage, for future Peace Corps volunteer applicants.

Student Fan of the Game nominations are now open! One student will be chosen before the home football game as that matchup's Student Fan of the Game. The student chosen will be announced at the new tailgate tradition, the Student Gameday Huddle, win a prize and be featured on the Folsom Field scoreboards during the game.

Self-nominate or nominate a friend by Oct. 30 to be named the CU vs. Oregon State Student Fan of the Game.

Join Boulder County Elections to celebrate Vote Early Day at Avery Brewing on Thursday, Oct. 26, from 4 to 6 p.m. You can drop off your mail ballot, sign up to register to vote (bring friends!), ask elections staff questions, and get free election swag while supplies last).

Elections staff will also have Vote Early Day events at the Emergency Family Assistance Association (EFAA) in Boulder and at Intercambio in Longmont.

• 9–10:30 a.m. at Intercambio, 1715 Iron Horse Drive, Longmont
• 11 a.m.–1 p.m. at Emergency Family Assistance Association (EFAA), 1575 Yarmouth Ave., Boulder

By registering your party with Off-Campus Housing & Neighborhood Relations, the registrant will get a 20-minute warning before police officers arrive if your residence receives a noise complaint.

Showcase your art in the heart of campus! The Student Arts Program collects original art created by the CU Boulder student community and displays it throughout the UMC.

The program accepts photography/film/technology, painting, drawing, sculpture or textile. Visit our website for a detailed list of acceptable media.

Awards will be given for top submissions. Artwork is reviewed by a panel of judges that decides which artwork is accepted into the program and where that artwork will be displayed. The UMC covers the cost of framing, hanging and securing the artwork.
