Bicycle Registration

Register your bike at the bicycle station. For after-hours registration, contact Tracy Calvin at 303-735-2705.

  • Registration is $10, good for the life of the bicycle.
  • Cash, check, or student bursar account is accepted.
  • Students must use SID, not social security number. Find SID here.
  • Must have current photo ID and bicycle present to register.
  • Bicycle registration is mandatory for the Boulder campus.

Benefits of registration:

  • Homeowners or renters insurance often cover stolen bicycles if they were registered.
  • Registered bicycles are less likely to be stolen than unregistered bicycles, because they are harder to re-sell.
  • The bicycle station provides its services only to registered bicycles.
  • Police will not follow up on stolen-bicycle reports on unregistered bicycles.

If your bicycle is missing:

  • It may have been impounded if it was abandoned or locked to a handicap railing or something other than a bike rack. Call 303-492-2322 to find out.
  • Impounded bicycles are kept for only 90 days.
  • If you believe your bicycle was stolen please call the campus police at 303-492-6666. Have your registration paperwork ready.
