The Boulder Faculty Assembly Awards for Excellence in Research, Scholarly, and Creative Work, 2013
The Boulder Faculty Assembly is pleased to announce that up to four (4) awards for excellence in research, scholarly, and creative work will be awarded for spring 2013. Each award will be in the amount of $3,000.
The purpose of these awards is to recognize faculty for demonstrating overall excellence in research, scholarly, or creative work. Emphasis will be on work of high quality that does not receive recognition through the usual channels. For instance, nominations for interdisciplinary research, work accomplished with undergraduate students, or an integrated long-term achievement, are particularly invited.
Nomination packets must contain the following materials in the following order:
A cover letter from the person nominating the faculty member. If several people are nominating the faculty member they should jointly prepare one cover letter and cosign it.
1 to 2 supporting letters of evaluation from appropriate colleagues.
A statement written by the candidate detailing the impact of his or her research. Examples of relevant criteria include:
The candidate's curriculum vitae.
If the candidate’s work has been recognized by a prize of some type, please include that information. The research/creative work for which the award is given may be sponsored or unsponsored.
Please do not submit samples of published materials.
(Other supporting materials such as letters written by students may be included if appropriate but must follow the items on the list above, and should not be addressed to the nominee but to the nominator or to the award selection committee.)
Nominees will be members of the Boulder Campus Faculty Senate. Nominations are solicited from departments as well as individual faculty members.
Research, Scholarly, and Creative Work Awards will not be given twice to the same person. Nominators are encouraged to visit www.Colorado.edu/BFA/archives/pastawards.html to determine whether potential nominees have received the award previously and are therefore not eligible to be nominated.
The deadline for receipt of complete nomination packets is Wednesday, FEBRUARY 12, 2014.
Please contact BFA Chair Paul Chinowsky at 303-735-1063 or email@example.com with any questions.
Nomination packets should be delivered in electronic form as a single pdf file. Only complete packets will be accepted. Packets should be e-mailed to Carmen Grace, Chair of the BFA Excellence Awards Selection Committee, at Carmen.firstname.lastname@example.org;
