Alcohol Use at the University

CU-Boulder is committed to excellence in all aspects of personal and academic life. Alcohol abuse and misuse is a significant impediment to achieving this excellence. Therefore, CU-Boulder permits only responsible, legal consumption of alcohol. The university complies with all federal, state, and local laws concerning alcohol and illegal drugs. As a CU-Boulder student, you are responsible for acquainting yourself with the laws and university policies regarding alcohol and illegal drugs.

Career Services

Career Services is a great place to get help with planning your career, finding an internship, and getting a job or going to graduate school. The Career Services fee you pay with your tuition covers almost everything—access to online internship and postgraduate job opportunities, admission to career and internship fairs, on-campus interviewing, employer and job-search skills presentations, professional career counseling, résumé critiques, and résumé referrals.

Center for Multicultural Affairs

The Center for Multicultural Affairs (CMA) is a resource to students in providing advocacy, advising, support, and mentoring services aimed at increasing community, persistence, and empowerment of all students, using a particular lens of multiculturalism and social justice. A few of the programs offered by CMA are the Peer Mentor Program, First Generation Scholars Program, Diversity Awareness Trainings, White Ally Program, and Exploring Diversity Through Film Series.

Child Care

The Children’s Center (303-492-6185) serves the children of university residents, students, staff and faculty. Additionally, CU-Boulder Human Resources provides employees with access to Sittercity, an online platform that connects employees to pre-screened babysitters, nannies, elder care providers, tutors, pet care providers and housekeeping services.

Closing Campus

Hazardous storms and other emergencies occasionally force the campus to close. Closures for emergencies that occur at night normally are announced by 6:00 a.m. Daytime closures or evacuations are announced as decisions are made. Information on the nature of the emergency and any necessary instructions will be posted on the main CU-Boulder website and sent via campus text alerts.  www.colorado.edu | 303-492-4636

Crises

From time to time, we all have difficulties with our personal relationships, social life, classes, or finances. As a result, we may feel depressed or anxious without being able to link these feelings to a single problem. Other crises arise when we are victims of physical assault, harassment, or discrimination; have a serious substance abuse problem; or feel violent or suicidal. If you find yourself in a crisis, don’t hesitate to call the Office of Victim Assistance at 303-492-8855 for free and confidential assistance.  cuvictimassistance.com
