Supporting ATLAS

The Alliance for Technology, Learning and Society (ATLAS) is an academic institute on the CU-Boulder campus whose work is centered on the issues and impacts of computing across a broad spectrum of communities and interests. The unique ATLAS building opened in 2006 and serves as a campus and community resource for technology oriented, interdisciplinary collaborations.

The efforts of the ATLAS Institute are equally divided between academic, research and outreach activities, and the ATLAS building supports these efforts, as well as artistic, production, K-12 programs, film studies and several teaching initiatives. All of the work at ATLAS stresses a need for interdisciplinary collaboration to use modern technology effectively and to its full potential.

Continued support is needed to build ATLAS' funding base in order to continue to provide engaging academic and artistic programs, support outstanding students, and undertake research initiatives at the intersection of IT with a range of areas. Funds can be directed to support:

• ATLAS DIRECTOR'S FUND
Ongoing operational needs are met through generous gifts supporting TAM, Undergraduate, K-12 and CAMP programs, and diversified artistic, technical, educational and outreach programs.
• ATLAS Ph.D. PROGRAM
ATLAS seeks to build an endowment for support of the ATLAS Ph.D. program, and student and faculty fellowships to enhance ATLAS' mission in teaching and academic excellence, research and public outreach.
• CAPITAL & BUILDING FUNDING
Capital funding is still needed to fully satisfy building construction costs.

Inquiries or questions about development and how to support ATLAS should be directed to Stephanie Wanek, CU Foundation ATLAS Development Officer; telephone: 303-735-1322; e-mail: stephanie.wanek@cufund.org
