A generous gift from the family and partner of William Pryde, a 1963 mathematics graduate of CU and retired IBM employee who passed away in August 2010, helped fund an extensive remodeling of an ATLAS classroom over the summer of 2011.
The classroom has been renamed the William Jack Pryde Teaching Laboratory. Planning is under way for a dedication ceremony for the new lab.
The gift funded the remodeling and expansion of Room 104, which formerly had a limit of 25 students and was limited to computer laptop access only through a checkout program. The remodeled lab now can accommodate 30 students; laptop computers are provided at every seat; and the room features new high-definition projectors.
The remodeling reflects the classroom design features of Room 113, including storage cabinets and maple woodwork.
