On average, we blink 10 times a minute.
What is lost in these dark moments?
BLINKING illuminates this briefly missed sight. It splinters dance into tiny moving stills and hallucinatory cinema that runs in the back of the eyelids and on to the panoramic projection screens of the Black Box theater.
What stories accumulate in the blink of a day?
What do we see in these brief moments?
What can we know in the darkness?

Praise for Lostwax Multimedia Dance and Blinking –
“One of the most successful pairings of dance and digital media that I have ever seen. . . Nothing less than electrifying. A mesmerizing dance that combined action and reaction, live body and software program, light and dark, sight and sensation to make a whole that was greater than the sum of its already impressive parts.” – Critical Dance
“A provocative and voyaging piece – compellingly combined movement, projection, and music to braid in a seamless plait. . . A fantastic realization of those moments when we close our eyes to a bright scene, and watch the inverse play out in the dark theater of the inside of our eyelids.” – GoLocal Providence

Collaborators and directors Jamie Jewett and R. Luke DuBois explore
the fascinating human processes of pattern recognition, movement
and perception with this provocative new work. Audiences are
invited to enter the waking dream of BLINKING and experience
the impressions hidden behind one woman’s eyes.
