Arts and Sciences Faculty Positions Notice
Energy Economics
The Department of Economics at the University of Colorado Boulder and the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Institute (RASEI, a joint institute between the University of Colorado and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, NREL) invite applications for up to two full-time positions in Energy Economics to begin August 2013. These positions are part of a University-wide, multi-disciplinary hiring program that will add 24 or more new faculty members with energy-related research and teaching interests to the Campus over the next five years. The positions are tenure-track and expected to be filled at the Assistant Professor level, although candidates with exceptional qualifications may be considered for appointment at a higher level. Successful candidates will be appointed on a tenure line in Economics, appointed as an Affiliate or Fellow of RASEI, and have the possibility for a joint appointment in NREL.
Candidates with interests in collaborative research projects aimed at confronting scientific, technological and institutional barriers to the deployment of scalable and sustainable energy systems are of special interest for these positions. We encourage applications from candidates conducting research in energy economics broadly defined including macroeconomics, equilibrium modeling, and consumer/producer choice. Candidates at the assistant professor level ordinarily should have completed all requirements for the Ph.D. by August 18, 2013, though it is possible for candidates who have finished all but the dissertation to begin work while completing the degree. A Ph.D. is required for appointment at the Assistant Professor Level.
Applications are accepted electronically at https://www.jobsatcu.com, posting #818581. Review of applications will begin on November 15, 2012 and continue until the position is filled, though we expect to meet with candidates at the ASSA meetings in January 2013. The University of Colorado is an equal opportunity employer. See www.colorado.edu/ArtsSciences/Jobs/ for full information.
