In order to promote an understanding of the power, politics, and history of American defense and security policies at the University of Colorado at Boulder and beyond, "Dialogue on Defense" aims to get inside the Pentagon by encouraging the secretaries of defense to reflect on their careers, policies, events and historical trends that provide a context for the current defense posture of the United States.

This series is no longer active, although the archives for Secretary Perry and Schlesinger’s visits are still available.
