Chancellor DiStefano has authorized the closure of the CU-Boulder campus to unauthorized visitors and non-affiliates on Saturday, April 20, 2013.
- The Norlin Quad lawn areas will be closed to all people regardless of campus affiliation on Saturday, April 20, 2013. Individuals who enter the lawn areas of Norlin Quad will be ticketed for trespassing. Closure signage will be clearly displayed in this area.
- All regular academic activities will go on as scheduled, but you will need your Buff OneCard ID card throughout the day to gain admittance to classroom buildings in the heart of the campus.
- Also, be advised that the general campus will be closed to non-affiliates.
- For those visitors who are participants in academic meetings, symposia, conferences or other officially sanctioned events or activities, limited access to campus will be provided via a special registration program.
- The Campus Visitor Access form closed at 10 p.m. on Sunday, April 14.
- CU-Boulder event organizers should contact the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Administration at vca@colorado.edu for group access to campus on April 20.
- Affiliates are encouraged to use alternative methods of transportation to get to and from campus. Bus routes that normally travel through core campus on 18th Street and Colorado Avenue – including the HOP and Buff Bus – will be detoured down Regent Drive.Please see http://www.colorado.edu/pts/content/420-traffic-parking-transit-impacts for additional information.
We understand these represent sacrifices and different protocols than you are used to. We are taking these measures and others to try to end the disruptive and unwanted 4/20 event on the campus.
