Are you an experienced professional who has been job searching for a while with little to no success? Do you feel that you are doing all of the right things but aren’t getting the results you want. This program is designed to provide you the tools and support you need to find success in your job search.
In this six week program we will cover:
Introduction: We'll start by getting to know one another and reviewing the ground rules. Then we'll tackle the following questions: Why are you here? What are you hoping to gain from the group? What are your goals related to your job search? What is the biggest job search challenge that you are currently facing?
Resume and Cover Letters: We'll teach you the most important things you need to know about writing a resume and cover letter, plus how to stand out using these documents.
Job Search Strategies: We will discuss which job boards should you avoid and which ones are the best. We also will cover the top job search strategies, networking and the power of informational interviewing.
Interviewing Strategies: This session will cover the most effective interviewing techniques and the best way to prepare for interviews.
The Emotional Side of the Job Search: Your emotional state is just as important in landing a job as having a solid resume, cover letter and search strategy. Beliefs, thoughts and attitudes, and how they impact the job search process will be discussed.
Commitments and Goals: The focus of the last class will be on the power of commitments and how to minimize distractions. Each person will create an individualized action plan to support them in achieving their desired goals.
