Student Help Options:
More Resources
Perhaps one place to seek help better suits your needs than others. Here are a few of the campus programs where you can seek assistance.
Focus on Alcohol Concerns (FAC): An educational program offered as a court diversion in M.I.P. cases.
At Wardenburg Student Health Center’s Psychological Health and Psychiatry Division, students can seek individual counseling for an assessment concerning their own personal drinking habits.
STARS: A treatment program for students when substance abuse first starts to appear. Students are able to enroll in this program voluntarily.
Counseling and Psychological Services is a free resource available to all CU-Boulder students. Staff and faculty are welcome to consult with the center's staff about student concerns. The center is a safe place where students can talk confidentially with a professional psychologist or counselor who understands and respects their needs. Counselors and psychologists also provide group counseling, skill-building workshops, crisis intervention, multicultural awareness training, team building, and interest testing and interpretation (for a small testing fee). No initial appointment is necessary.Walk-in hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 to 4 p.m. Call for more information.

The Office of Victim Assistance (OVA) offers free confidential information, support and short term counseling to students, faculty and staff at CU and their significant others. OVA’s mission is to mitigate the long term negative impact of traumatic events, which are viewed in the context of long standing patterns of violence and unequal access to resources based on gender, race, class, sexual orientation, gender expression and ability.
