Student Help Options:

Perhaps one place to seek help better suits your needs than others. Here are a few of the campus programs where you can seek assistance.

Counseling and Psychological Services- A Community Action Center, offers 6 counseling sessions to each student per academic year at no charge. If longer term treatment is required CAPS will help you set up an arrangement and will help you work with your insurance to cover any costs. Visit www.colorado.edu/healthcenter/php/.

At Wardenburg Student Health Center’s Psychological Health and Psychiatry Division, students can seek individual counseling for an assessment concerning their own personal drinking habits.

The Office of Victim Assistance (OVA) offers free confidential information, support and short term counseling to students, faculty and staff at CU and their significant others. OVA’s mission is to mitigate the long term negative impact of traumatic events, which are viewed in the context of long standing patterns of violence and unequal access to resources based on gender, race, class, sexual orientation, gender expression and ability.
