The Department of Aerospace Engineering Sciences at the University of Colorado at Boulder invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions in the following areas of expertise.
Computational and Experimental Mechanics. This position is focused on, but not limited to: Aerospace structural and mechanical systems; system identification, verification and validation; multiscale and multiphysics modeling and simulation; high performance computations; and seamless integration of experiments with computations. This position may be filled at the assistant, associate or full professor level.
Multidisciplinary Fluid Dynamics. This position is focused on, but not limited to, topics such as micro/nanofluidics, biofluids, multiphase reactive flows, unsteady aerodynamics and sustainable energy applications. It is targeted at the level of assistant professor, but higher levels will be considered for more senior candidates.
Numerous opportunities exist in the Boulder/Denver area for research collaboration, including partnerships with industry and laboratories. Duties include teaching, research and service to the university and professional community. A Ph.D. degree in an appropriate engineering or science field is required. Applicants at the junior level should demonstrate the potential to establish a vigorous research program and to excel at undergraduate and graduate teaching. Candidates at the senior level should demonstrate prior substantial accomplishments and professional recognition; experience in establishing and leading significant multidisciplinary programs in academia, national research laboratories or industry is desirable.
