Pre-Thanksgiving Break
24 Nov 08 20:13
For the week leading up to Thanksgiving break MADS was still hard at work with various tasks. The big one was trying to get a draf CDR presentation together for our PAB. Enough to say that its a good thing this was a draft but with great advise from Profs Maute and Emery we are feeling confident that we can pull a great CDR together. As for design work our Electrical and Manufacturing documents are nearing completion along with the integration and project management pieces that need pulled together. Our CFD model has hit a snag in that we have been limited to one simulation at a time to allow other users access to the program but that restriction will be lifted over break and the model should be finished just in time for CDR. There is also a finite element model in the works along with some sweet electrical and mechanical designs.
This week MADS also ran into our first trouble with shipping and deadlines. In trying to prepare for a complete DM drop test our DM actuator was ordered online. Well it never came in and test dates were pushed back till break week hoping the parts would be in. If they do come in MADS is looking at a busy week with a vibration test and another drive test to ensure our prototype DM works. To go with the tests we will be finalizing our CDR presentation and PRACTICING!
