Graduate Academic Standards

A master’s degree student is required to maintain at least a B (3.00) average in all work attempted while enrolled in the Graduate School at CU-Boulder. For a master’s degree a course mark below C is unsatisfactory and is not counted toward fulfilling the minimum requirements for the degree.

Admission to PhD candidacy requires a 3.25 average. For the PhD candidate, a grade earned below B- in any course work is unsatisfactory and does not count toward fulfilling the minimum requirements for the degree.

A student who fails to maintain the required grade point average (3.00 for master’s degree; 3.25 for PhD) or to make adequate progress toward completing a degree will be subject to suspension from the Graduate School upon consultation with the Department of Aerospace Engineering Sciences. The final decision on suspension will be made by the Dean of the Graduate School.
