Received Achievement Rewards for College Scientists (ARCS) Scholarship (1996 and 1997).
Recognized by the National Science Foundation as one of the top twenty graduate students in the field of Robotics (1996).
Led student robotics team that placed 1st at the International Unmanned Ground Robotics Competition sponsored by the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems in 1995. Other finishes include 3rd in 1994, 4th in 1996, 5th in 1997, and 2nd in 1998.
American Institute of Mining and Engineering (AIME) Undergraduate Scholarship (1978).

Research Interests

Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) navigation, guidance, and mobility engineering design; vehicle control hardware and software architecture, integration and testing; Space Flight payload control and automation hardware and software architecture, integration and testing. Emphasis in Network Systems, Wireless Networks, Software Engineering, Middleware Architectures, Wireless Telecommunications, and practical Security implementation.
