Study Abroad: Globalize Your Experience

Quick Fact

23 percent of students who start and graduate from CU-Boulder have studied abroad.

Studying abroad is one of the best experiences you can add to your college career. It is a unique opportunity to learn from other cultures, enhance your résumé, travel the world and grow as an individual. The University of Colorado Boulder strongly encourages students to study abroad and can help you add international experience to your own college career while still graduating in four years.

What is study abroad?

Studying abroad allows you to earn academic credit toward your CU-Boulder degree while taking courses in another country. Study abroad enhances your degree and career opportunities, and can bring to light interests you never knew you had. It’s a lot more than taking classes outside the United States--you can also get involved in independent study projects, internship opportunities, living with a host family or volunteering in your local international community.
