As we all know, Colorado is not the most physically diverse state, talk less of Boulder.
As the president of the African Students' Association here on campus, this year, we are focused on organizing events that give the community an insight into the cultures of the continental Africa and its surroundng islands. One of our biggest events is Taste of Africa. This year, TOA is on Saturday the 5th of November, 2011 at the Rec. Center. From 5:30pm, guests will be treated to live African bands, dance performances, a fashion show, African games and trivia, food from over eight countries and lots more. All this is free, thanks to the sponsorship received mainly from Cultural Events Board and then ASSG, Representative Council and the Center for Multicultural Affairs.
I've spent the last couple of weeks juggling academics, INs, contracts and meetings all in preparation for Taste of Africa. Everyone is looking forward to it and all are invited.
Also, ASA is open to all members of the community, students, friends, descendants, natives and novices of Africa alike.

Have a great week and stay involved!
