My family has recently started the tradition of running the BolderBoulder which takes place every Memorial Day Weekend in Boulder. This race is the largest 10K with over 50,000 people running it. The route takes you around Boulder, which is such a beautiful place to runs. The race ends in Folsom Field, our football stadium, where you run around the track as you finish while everone who is already done with the race watches. It is such a cool experience because the whole weekend, there is a huge Expo down on the Pearl Street Mall and everyone is out and ready for the race.
I've never been much of a runner, so last year I walked the race. A few weeks ago, I woke up to a text from my sister telling me that we should actually train for the BolderBoulder this year so that I can run it. I just laughed at the idea of me running a 10K and told her that that was not very likely. She told me that she was also out of shape and that we could train together with this app that she downloaded called 10K Pro, which gives you a running plan to get in shape. I downloaded the app and it didn't seem to difficult so I decided to do it. I have been running outside for a few weeks now, and I never realized how amazing of a place Boulder is to run. I run down on the Boulder Creek Trail, which is a concrete path that runs right next to the Boulder Creek. It is such a beautiful view to look at when you're running, that you hardly notice that altitude is no fun to run in. I'm so excited for the BolderBoulder now, and hope that I can actually run the whole thing!
Here are some pictures from last year's BolderBoulder 10K.
