Today marks the first day of spring, although it has been feeling a lot like spring for the past two weeks here in Boulder. The weather has been extremely warm for the past two weeks and it has made it impossible to do anything except play outside. Everyday people have been spending every waking moment outside on Farrand Field playing frisbee, slack lining, and even tanning. Between every class, I have gone and sat out on Farrand and just simply soaked up the sun.

Over the past few weeks, I've been trying out a few different places to work out. I had never worked out very much before I came to CU Boulder, but as it is the healthiest city in America, I couldn't help but be influenced. There are so many awesome work out studios in Boulder that offer a bunch of different classes. These are types of classes that I had never heard of before I came here, such as hula hooping. I have yet to try this class, but it's definitely on my list of things to do before I leave for the summer. 

This past weekend, my friend T.J. came to visit my friend Jacquie and me. When your friends come to visit it is a little different than when your parents come to visit because you have to spend your own money. Luckily, showing off Boulder on a budget isn't very hard. We started out the weekend breakfast to show off our amazing dining hall, the C4C. This dining hall has amazing breakfast food including omlettes and breakfast burritos. Whenever a friend comes to visit, I like to show off our dining hall and make them jealous of the food that we get to eat everyday.

Last week, my parents came to visit my sister and me here in Boulder. My parents are actually in Boulder a lot because this is where they met, so we have a few favorite places to eat and things to do for when they come to town. One of our favorite places to eat is a restaurant called Salt. This restaurant is located on the Pearl Street Mall and has amazing entrees. I always order some kind of fish because I don't eat that a whole lot in the dining halls, but everyone's favorite dish is the Tom's Tavern Burger. Another restaurant that we went to last week was called Oak.

Even though CU Boulder has amazing dining hall food, and no I'm not being sarcastic, it is sometimes nice to go out to eat. I have discovered some amazing restaurants here in Boulder. Since I'm a college student, it is only natural that I am on a strict budget and don't have a whole lot of money to spend on food. Since Boulder is a college town, they know how to cater to college student's needs and budgets. There are so many great restaurants in town that are low-cost but high-quality. 

I've never really liked Valentine's Day very much, yes I know this makes me sound like a cynical person, but it just isn't my favorite holiday. My perspective was changed a little bit with help from my sorority, Kappa Kappa Gamma, and CU-Boulder. Last night, I walked to Kappa for dinner and meeting like every Monday night. After dinner, the chef walked out and announced that there would be no dessert because he figured no one would eat it with Spring Break so close around the corner. With many yells of anger, he brought out a few bowls of grapes hoping that this would quiet us down.

Growing up in California, I had barely even seen snow before I came to school in Colorado. You can only imagine my excitement when I woke up to a CU Rave Alert text saying "CU campus closed today due to snow" and another text from my RA saying "snowball fight at 11 on Farrand Field!" Since I woke up well past 11, I could hear everyone from my floor screaming and running around outside. I rushed to get my winter clothes on and ran outside to join everybody on Farrand Field. My favorite part about living on campus is living right next to Farrand Field.

We've all heard the horror stories. Living in a dorm is a scary thought. Walking up to Libby Hall on move-in day scared the living daylights out of me. I couldn't believe that I was going to have to live with someone I had never met, in a space smaller than my room at home. This was a truly terrifying thought. After meeting my roommate, Dana, I realized that it wasn't going to be so bad, it actually started to seem fun. I soon realized that living in a dorm was, in fact, fun. Everywhere I walked on that first day, there was someone there wanting to meet me.
