It's Football Season!

Friday, September 13, 2013

This past weekend was CU Boulder's first home game of the season against Central Arkansas! Game days are up there on my favorite days as a CU student. As I walked around The Hill to buy a new Colorado shirt for the new school year, everybody was decked out in black and gold. Families, students, and alumni were walking around singing the fight song and yelling "Go Buffs"! You could definitely feel the spirit in the air!

Back to Boulder

Tuesday, September 3, 2013

The Summer is finally over and school has started with a whirlwind. I drove to Boulder from my hometown in California with excitment for the new year. I moved into my sorority house for the second year and excitedly greeted all of my friends! I put my room together, and trust me that was not easy. While I'm packing up my stuff from home, I always forget that I have to fit everything into a small room that I have to share with another person and I always completely overpack. So after my I finished unpacking and got settled in to my new home, I got ready for the year.

Greek Week 2013

Tuesday, April 23, 2013

This past week have been Greek Week at CU Boulder. Greek Week is when the sororities and fraternities are paired up to make up 9 teams. Each team competes in different events each day for points. The team with the most points at the end wins Greek Week and wins a trophy for their house. This year's theme was Boulder Class Reunion and each team had a Most Likely to... theme. Our theme was Most Likely To Become a Rockstar and all of our events were based on this theme.

Yoga in Boulder

Sunday, April 21, 2013

When I was in High School, I started doing Yoga with my mom as way to bond and a way to get through my senioritis. This is when I realized that I really liked doing yoga as a way to work out. Since I've been in college, I've loved finding new ways to excercise and new classes to attend. One of my favorite things to still do is attend yoga classes. This can get pretty expensive since drop in classes are a little too pricey for me, even though they do have student discounts which is really nice. I go when I can, but this can add up.

Easter

Monday, April 1, 2013

This year for Easter, my family flew out to Boulder so that we could all spend time together. We woke up in the morning and I went on an easy run around the town while my dad and my sister went on a harder run up Boulder canyon. They said that it was the most beautiful run that they have been on because it is up the mountains and has a beautiful view the whole time. We then went to Easter brunch at the Hotel Boulderado. This is an old hotel down by the Pearl Street Mall, which is said to be haunted. It is really cool looking and serves the best brunch!

Spring Break: New York

Monday, April 1, 2013

This Sprink Break, I went to New York City with my Mom and sister. It was so nice to get a whole week off and just relax for a little bit. We got in on Sunday night, so I stayed with my roommate in Littleton for two days before we left, where we watched Grease 2 and hung out with her family. When we got into New York, we went to a restaurant on top of an art museum. We began to notice that we stuck out a little bit because we were wearing brightly colored pants and jackets while everybody in New York was wearing black and grey.

Training for the BolderBoulder

Wednesday, March 20, 2013

My family has recently started the tradition of running the BolderBoulder which takes place every Memorial Day Weekend in Boulder. This race is the largest 10K with over 50,000 people running it. The route takes you around Boulder, which is such a beautiful place to runs. The race ends in Folsom Field, our football stadium, where you run around the track as you finish while everone who is already done with the race watches. It is such a cool experience because the whole weekend, there is a huge Expo down on the Pearl Street Mall and everyone is out and ready for the race.

Finally Some Warm Weather!

Friday, March 15, 2013

Yesterday, it finally started to feel like Spring! It was 65 degrees outside and everybody was enjoying this newly found warm weather! Everywhere you looked people were doing homework on the grass or playing games with their friends. I even watched multiple classes hold class outside for the day! Only three days ago, we had a surprise snow storm that filled the entire town with white snow. It is hard to believe that now we are all wearing shorts and tank tops everywhere!

Dad's Weekend

Tuesday, March 5, 2013

This past weekend was Dad's weekend for my sorority. Everyones dads came to visit all of us in Boulder and attend some fun events that our Public Relations chairman planned. I was so excited to see my dad, that I couldn't even wait for him to get in on Friday. My friends and I were so bored and so excited to see our dads. The first night when my dad landed, we went to dinner at Ted's Montant Grill on Pearl Street with 3 of my friends and one other dad. It was so great to catch up with everything that we missed in the past few months being apart.
