Following CU's win over CSU at a sold-out, record-crowd Coors Events Center, the Buffs headed to Lawrence, Kansas to take on the #6 Kansas Jayhawks.  Naturally, my roommates and I decided to come along for the ride.

Thanksgiving Fun

Sunday, November 25, 2012

My Thanksgiving break was extremely relaxing, laid back, and most of all, really fun.  I got to sleep at home for a few nights, with my parents' house being about a 10 minute drive from my house on campus.  Break started a few days early with my birthday being the Thursday before break, and I had a great dinner at home with some of my extended family from Boulder and Denver, in addition to being with my roommates up on the Hill.  During break I was between both of my Boulder homes, sleeping with my parents all but two nights of break.

Not to worry, everybody...basketball season is underway, and the Buffs are off to a great start.  We are 3-0 and play Murray State, an Elite Eight team from last year, tomorrow night on ESPN in the championship of the Charleston Classic.

The Beautiful Game

Monday, November 12, 2012

Ever since I was a little kid, I played indoor soccer at Boulder Indoor Soccer, a great turf facility on 28th Street and Valmont in Eastern Boulder.  I stopped playing organized soccer after 8th grade, but In high school, my friends and I fielded a very competitive team in the high school league at Boulder Indoor.  This team, named Deep Threat because of our superior speed to the edge as a team, earned a large following my senior year of high school.  When some members of Deep Threat went to CU, we decided to extend the legend of Deep Threat onto the Men's league at Boulder Indoor.

Buffalo Stampede in Eugene

Monday, October 29, 2012

This weekend, missing my cousin Joe like none other, I grabbed a Halloween costume (a hipster) at Savers, packed up a duffel bag with clothes and a few books, and headed out to Eugene, Oregon with my cousin Ben and roommate Philip.  We stayed at Joe's house, a ten minute walk to campus in foggy Eugene.  He lives with an Alaskan, a Minnesotan, an Oregonian, and one of my best friends, Connor Soicher from Denver.

Ping Pong For Days

Sunday, October 14, 2012

I have always loved ping pong and have been a very competitive player for many years.  When I was a freshman in high school, my father and I rescued a beat-up table from a yard sale, stripped the warped wood off the frame, and built a new table from scratch.  That table saw hundreds of games and bore distinctive marks of character.
