I was never much of a girly-girl growing up. I rarely ever played with dolls, choosing instead to play sports with the neighborhood boys. I loved to roll about in mud and dirt, rather than play dress up. Needless to say, I never really considered I was Queen status of any kind.

These past couple of weeks have really made me think about what drives us forward. Each of us is motivated for different reasons. I know that I am often motivated by failure and by pushing myself beyond a personal challenge. Others may be motivated by reward, peer-pressure, or acceptance, but no matter what it is, we are all driven by something.

This past weekend sure was a crazy one! It was a weekend of fun, excitement, gambling, laughter, dancing, and celebration. It consisted of three days, two nights, way too many activities to count, and forty sorority girls, all packed into the little town of Las Vegas.

Yes my friends, it’s that time again. That magical time when students are back from break and the Hill is once again bustling with life and excitement. Now don’t get me wrong, being a close-to-Boulder native I do enjoy the times when students go home and the Boulderites have the run of the town once again. The campus just has such a different feel once everyone leaves.
