Spring BREAK

Thursday, March 22, 2012

About two weeks ago, I broke my left wrist snowboarding. The inconvenience of showering with a bag over your arm aside, the worst part is that my family and I had planned to go to Costa Rica for break—it was sort of a “last hurrah” vacation since my sister’s break and mine aligned.

Get Away to Get Going

Friday, March 9, 2012

Sometimes, you have weeks of school that hit you like a bus. Last week was one of those weeks for me; between two midterms and two papers, which required an inordinate amount of time spent in the library, I was feeling pretty checked out as Friday rolled around. I even tried to get a head start on some of my readings for the coming week, but all I could do was hit the "next episode" button on Netflix.

Oh, the Places You'll Go

Friday, March 2, 2012

Did your parents ever sit down with a Dr. Suess book with you before bed time, watching you stumble over the letters as you phonetically sounded out the words "lorax" and "bamboozle?" Perhaps you can fondly remember your favorite story, or your first grade teacher bringing in real  green eggs and ham. Dr. Suess touched millions of children's lives, and today, on his 108th birthday, I thought it only fitting to bring a little Suess to CU.

A Bum Knee

Friday, February 24, 2012

A few weekends ago, I went on a back country ski trip with my dad and my sister. On our hike out, my ski got trapped under a branch that had been hidden by fresh snow, causing me to awkwardly fall and sending my knee in, well, the wrong direction.

The Humdrum

Monday, January 30, 2012

Sometimes, you seak the hum drum. You yearn for a daily routine, a solid schedule that becomes so consistent you could navegate between classes, work, and school with your eyes closed. It allows you to make plans far in advance, to allot time to get your homework done so you can go out with your friends all weekend. Your life syncs with a calender, with a clock. It ticks as you go; it's simple.

DONE!

Wednesday, December 14, 2011

After some delirous nights, nerve wracking tests, and a multitude of term papers, I can finally say that I'm done with this semester! What a weight off my chest! I actually took a nap yesterday after my tests were over; that's an anomoly in my life. Now as I sit here with a piping hot cup of coffee at 8:15 with no actual classes to attend, I have to wonder... why am I up this early? I think my body has adrenaline coursing through my veins, urging me to keep going.
