Achieving dreams through CU-Boulder

Thursday, April 25, 2013

Hey Buffs!

I have some very exciting news to share! This past month, I interviewed for a public relations internship at Sports Illustrated and was offered and happily accepted the position a few weeks ago! That's right! I am headed to New York City for the summer upon graduating with double degrees in journalism and communication in May.

Roots & Wings

Friday, October 19, 2012

Hey friends!

It's been awhile since my last post, but I've been extremely busy like the other bloggers as well. Aside from having midterms, I've actually spent time away from Boulder and have been preparing for the half marathon I'm running this upcoming weekend. I'll start by sharing where I've been.

Horseback Riding!

Monday, October 1, 2012

It's no surprise Boulder has TONS to do within its city limits, but there is also a lot to do outside of town. For instance, Denver is only 30-40 minutes away from Boulder, so you can always attend a sporting event, explore downtown and eat at fun restaurants in the Mile High City. Also, the ski resorts aren't that far from Boulder, so when winter comes, planning a weekend trip to the mountains isn't out of the question. I, however, am familiar with and grew up going to a place just about an hour away from Boulder in the Rocky Mountains.

Running Trails

Saturday, September 22, 2012

As I've mentioned in my older posts from last school year, I signed up for my first half marathon coming up in less than a month! I've been pretty good up to this point about mixing up my running on a treadmill and hitting the pavement. I recently moved into a new apartment in August, which is located in "South" Boulder. I put south in quotes because I live more east than south from a directional standpoint, but I digress.

Colorado Beauty

Sunday, September 16, 2012

This past weekend I was lucky enough to go on a hike in the Rocky Mountains with my family. We started the day fairly early (while it was still cool out) and headed up Highway 7 to our favorite spot just outside of Estes Park. We parked at Wild Basin and started our adventure on the Ouzel Falls trailhead. This hike is relatively easy, traveling about 4 miles total, with the exception of one steep climb up the mountain. I recommend this hike to anyone traveling to Colorado for the first time or looking for a fun activity to do with friends or family.

Starting School & Staying Healthy

Friday, September 7, 2012

School has started again, which means it is back to my busy schedule! I am a senior this year completely excited (and a little nervous) that I only have this semester and spring semester left! Since I am so busy with work and school, it is important I maintain a healthy diet so I can keep up my energy and stamina to get through various tasks, not to mention I am running my first half marathon in a little over a month!

Marathon time!

Saturday, February 18, 2012

Hey everyone!

So just like fellow blogger Erika, I signed up to run a marathon this week! The race takes place in October and is considered a "half marathon" or 13.1 miles. I am super excited about it!! It's the Boulder Marathon.
