Making a Difference

Wednesday, October 24, 2012

Hello all! I hope everyone is having a great week and getting ready for Halloween! Anybody have any good costumes? I think I'm going to be a Patriots player. We need more representation out here!

Let the countdown begin!

Wednesday, October 17, 2012

For me, the first semester of the school year has never gone by very quickly. However, this year seems to be an anomaly. It has gone by SO fast, and I can't believe that we only have 30 days until Thanksgiving break! I am so excited to go home to see my family, but there are a LOT of things I have to get done before then! First of all, we just got paired with our Homecoming partners, the wonderful gentlemen of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Chi Psi. The overall theme is Olympics, and our specific theme is Equestrian, which is going to be so much fun.

Philanthropy and Wedding Love!

Thursday, October 11, 2012

This past weekend was so much fun! Friday we had a night in and watched a ton of movies, including my all time favorite movie, The Town. Saturday was a study day, which was definitely needed, and then at night I ended up having to help my friend go grocery shopping. Definitely a few lessons learned there. For example, when a guy says that he only needs to buy gatorade and chicken, don't be surprised when they get distracted and end up coming out with $150 worth of groceries. I was surprised to say the least.

And just like that...

Wednesday, October 3, 2012

The cold has arrived! I am so excited for some cold weather to finally be here. And, even better, it's supposed to snow on Saturday! It's finally Fall for real this time. No more 80 degree weather...hopefully. You never know with Boulder, I guess! But luckily all of this cold weather has come at the right time, because it really discourages me from going outside and doing nothing when I should be studying for my midterms.

Senioritis to the fullest

Thursday, September 27, 2012

Five weeks into school and I already have a severe case of Senioritis. Obviously this is really bad timing, since midterms are, well, now. And of course with it being so rainy out, no one wants to do anything but sleep. But I'll just have to power through and get it done!

...Midterms Already?!

Sunday, September 23, 2012

I can honestly say that these last two weeks have been some of the busiest weeks of my college career. It has been ridiculous, and unfortunately it's only going to get worse with midterms coming up this week and for the next few weeks! But it has been pretty exciting none the less. We finally finished recruitment and welcomed 73 new members to Delta Delta Delta! Today we started the process of Revelation, which is when the Big Sisters give gifts and clues to their new Little Sisters, and I am lucky enough to get two new Little Sisters!

Ohhh boy!

Friday, September 7, 2012

The stress has begun! I already feel like I've been here for a month, but it's only been two weeks! I already had an essay due this past Tuesday, and I have three more due next week! Plus two quizzes next week as well. Needless to say, I guess this is why people say not to tak 21 credits! But I just had a meeting about my Honors Thesis and I'm really excited about my topic! I'm still deciding between focusing on women during Fascism, or Futuristic women.

The Last Firsts

Wednesday, August 29, 2012

Well, school has started, but summer definitely hasn't ended. Boulder has been a little bit too warm for my liking, and all of us are counting down the days until the fall weather comes! It's so crazy that I've officially started Senior year. Like the title says, I've also started the last of my firsts. For example, my last time moving in to my sorority, Delta Delta Delta, my last first day of school, my last Italian class...I know that in Graduate school I'll have another first day of school and probably another Italian class, but it just won't be the same!

Packing Up!

Wednesday, August 22, 2012

The time has come to start packing up my things and move back out to beautiful Boulder! I can't believe that Saturday I'll be fully moved in and ready to start my senior year! So crazy. I have so much to look forward to this year. My Big, Kelsey (for those of you who don't know, a Big is kind of like a mentor in your sorority) is getting married in October, and I'm so happy for her. Also, a bunch of my friends and I are going on a perimeter ride down at Garden of the Gods, which is one of my favorite places in Colorado. Everyone should go if they get a chance!

Nostalgia

Saturday, August 18, 2012

I don't know if it's just because this is my last week before starting my senior year, but I've been really nostalgic lately. I think it's gotten worse since I've started tutoring two Spanish teenagers from Granada. Yesterday instead of learning about giving directions, we ended up talking about the things we missed from Spain, like the Bifruta (this juice that also has milk in it. Sounds gross, and it actually smells kinda gross, but woah does it taste good), chuches (little gummy candies), and paella. That talk definitely made me want to go back to Spain right away!
