A Dreary Wednesday Night

Wednesday, February 6, 2013

While most people might disagree, I absolutely love it when it rains in Boulder. Because Boulder gets over 300 days of sun a year, it's kind of like a special treat when you have a rainy day. And tonight is no exception! All I want to do is curl up in bed with a blanket and some tea and watch a movie! But, unfortunately, that is not a life I can afford to live right now! Too much work to do! But I really don't mind, since I like all of the classes I'm taking this semester...which we've already been in for a month! Incredible!

Making the Dreaded Plans Already

Wednesday, January 30, 2013

Time is flying! My parents called me today to tell me that they officially bought their tickets to come out for graduation. No turning back now, I guess! They also started talking about all of the things they wanted to do when they were out here. Let me tell you, they are trying to cram A LOT of stuff into three days! But that's only natural, seeing as it's my dad's second time out to Boulder and my mom's fifth. My mom has seen a lot of things and been a lot of places, but my dad hasn't been able to yet. My dad is set on getting up to Estes park, which will be really fun.

First Weeks Back

Thursday, January 24, 2013

Hello again! I hope everyone had an amazing break, as well as a productive first week back! I can't believe that I'm back for my last semester here at the University of Colorado at Boulder. No, really, I'm speechless. All I can think is: I don't want to leave!

Boulder History

Wednesday, December 12, 2012

Growing up in the suburbs Boston, Massachusetts, I have been surrounded by history, whether I liked it or not. We would take field trips to walk on the Freedom Trail and see where Cripus Attucks was shot and the Boston Massacre occured. Living in Lexington, we ate lunch on the Green, where the first shot of the Revolutionary War was heard around the world. Every Patriots' Day, there is a reenactment of the first battle of the Revolutionary War at 6 in the morning, and the entire town either participates or shows up.

It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year!

Thursday, December 6, 2012

...sort of! This week has been a lot of fun though, and it's acting kind of like the calm before the storm that is Finals Week. A lof of alumnae from my sorority, Delta Delta Delta, are back in town for both the Pine Party, which is our annual holiday party, and our Formal, which is tonight! The Pine Party is always so much fun, and probably one of my favorite events of the year. All of the alumnae bring their kids, or even grandkids, and we decorate cookies, make gingerbread houses, and decorate the Christmas tree that we have in our living room.

Birthday Time!

Wednesday, November 28, 2012

Happy Birthday to me! I'm so happy that I got to celebrate my birthday out here! I had so much fun and I'm looking forward to celebrating even more with my friends who already graduated this weekend! Plus, I'm really glad my birthday is happening now, because with finals just around the corner, I need to start studying soon!

Home Again!

Wednesday, November 21, 2012

Well, I'm back at home and it is awesome. I have to admit, it was a bit weird having the house to myself, since my brother didn't get home until Tuesday. But it was nice to just hang out with my parents and my puppy! We got to go to Newburyport, which is a town on the North Shore, and see some of the damage from Sandy. Because Newburyport is the place where the Merrimack river and the ocean meet, there are these stone jetties built to control the turbulance and the mixing of the ocean and river.

The Final Countdown

Wednesday, November 14, 2012

I must admit that the end of the semester has completely snuck up on me. After break, we only have 3 WEEKS until final exams! Which is really, really scary. But, fortunately there are some awesome things coming up that make the gloominess that is finals week fun! Here's a quick list:

Dance Marathon

Thursday, November 8, 2012

Well, I can finally say that I am somewhat relaxed! I finished my big writing essay, my thesis is coming along really well, and I have no more tests until finals! If that's not an amazing feeling, I don't know what is! What's even better is that I get to go home next Friday! I haven't seen my family in so long, and I'm really excited to see them and my dog, and eat some really good food for Thanksgiving! Gotta love mashed potatoes.

Happy Halloween!

Wednesday, October 31, 2012

Happy Halloween everyone! I love this holiday, especially because it means that we're even closer to Thanksgiving, which means my birthday! Woohoo! I saw so many children today in the best costumes. A little girl dressed as a cat even did her best scary cat hiss at me. It was pretty spot on. I remember when I was little, my mom used to do the best face paint for me for Halloween. Especially when I was the Wicked Witch of the West. It was super scary and awesome!
