Closing Time

Wednesday, May 1, 2013

Well, ladies and gentlemen, this will be my last post! I'm graduating next Friday, and I can't believe it. I found out recently that I'm graduating both With Distinction from the University, and summa cum laude from my honors thesis. I am really happy and beyond proud of myself! Although I'm excited for graduation to happen and to be done with finals, I don't want to leave just yet! Although, not going to lie, this weather is making me reconsider that last statement. Whatever happened to spring!?

Silver Linings

Thursday, April 18, 2013

Silver linings have been playing a big part in my life recently, especially regarding this weather. While I do think that it is absolutely crazy that we're getting this much snow in April, my silver lining is that I get to see the Flatirons covered in snow one last time before moving back east, which is absolutely an amazingly beautiful sight. Aside from the weather, things have also been pretty crazy, especially seeing that finals and graduation are less than three weeks away!

Belated April Fools?

Thursday, April 11, 2013

I was really hoping that this storm was a belated April Fools joke...but apparently not! I can't believe that the weather turned to this so quickly! Just another reason why I love Boulder, it always keeps you on your toes! I'm really glad I didn't send my winter stuff home last week like I was supposed to. I guess procrastination pays off sometimes!

Can It Be Spring Break Again?

Thursday, April 4, 2013

Wow, what an amazing spring break! It was a week of a lot of firsts for me, which was really cool. While I have traveled around foreign countries quite a bit, I have never really been around the US at all, so driving through New Mexico and Arizona was quite a sight! Very open...lots of bushes...lots of mesas. It was also my first road trip, and the first time I've ever seen a cactus. One the way back up to Colorado from Tuscon we drove through a National Forrest and it was literally a forrest of suaro cacti. Insane!

Spring Break is Almost Here!

Thursday, March 21, 2013

Hello everyone! I'm so excited that Spring Break is just around the corner! I looked at the weather for Boulder, and it looks like next week will be pretty chilly! Luckily, I'll be in Tuscon, and it's supposed to be sunny and warm the whole week! Needless to say, I'm going shopping for sunscreen tomorrow! But, before I can get ready for Arizona, I have so much to do! I have my American History midterm tomorrow, and then I defend my Honors Thesis on Friday! It's hard to believe that something I've worked so hard on for the past year is finally coming to an end.

The Home Stretch

Thursday, March 14, 2013

Well, I am FINALLY done with my Honors Thesis! I do have to fix two footnotes, but that's simple, and I can do that tomorrow. But as of right now, the bulk of the work is done! Now all I have to do is defend...not quite sure what to expect! Luckily, my thesis advisor is going to do a practice defense with me next week. Honestly, I'm not too nervous about it. I love to talk, and I know everything there is to know about Women and Italian Fascism at this point! I guess I just have to remember to talk slowly and clearly...that can be a huge issue when I get nervous!

Daydreams

Wednesday, March 6, 2013

So it's still midterms, which means that, other than studying, there is a lot of procrastinating going on. But since procrastinating is such a negative word, we'll just call it daydreaming! My friend Jess and I were daydreaming the other day about how fabulous it would be if, instead of getting a big kid job upon graduating, we could just travel the world and see everything. So, that led to us creating the top five places in the entire world that we think everyone should visit given the chance!

...Whay Day is it Today?

Thursday, February 28, 2013

Have you ever had just one of those weeks in which so much has happened, that you feel like a lot more time has passed than just a week? Well, this week was one of those. Not only are midterms in full swing, I also managed to get a tutoring job for the CU Athletics Department, which is really exciting! I am so excited to start working with the student-athletes, and to see a different side of CU Athletics that not many people get to see! However, this job means decided between moving home or staying out here after graduation, which, as many of you know, is an extremely difficult decision.

Greek Week Is Upon Us!

Thursday, February 21, 2013

It's the most wonderful time of the spring semester! Well, for me anyways! Tonight our Greek Week partners were announced, as well as our theme! The overall theme is Class Reunion, with the specific themes being superlatives (like Most likely to...) We are so happy to be paired with the beautiful ladies of Sigma Rho Lamda, as well as the wonderful gentlemen of Pi Kappa Phi and Alpha Gamma Omega. Though Greek Week is still about a month and a half away, preparations have already started!

Freshman Year Nostalgia

Thursday, February 14, 2013

Hi everyone! Sorry for the delay! I was pretty sick yesterday, and didn't really move from bed! But I'm back at it today and feeling better! It's quite a Valentine's day outside, I must say. I went to class this morning with just a polar fleece on and after class there was already an inch of snow on the ground! Absolutely beautiful, but I was definitely not prepared in the least! Hopefully the snow will stick around for a while. My parents and brother are back in Boston, and they think that the snow from the blizzard will stick around for at least a few weeks.
