Pets on Campus

Wednesday, April 3, 2013

The other day I realized that I know a lot of people with pets.

The residence halls don't allow anything with dander. So basically you can only have a fish in the dorms.

However, once you move off campus, there are many landlords who will let you have a pet in a rental house. Some make you put up and a slightly larger deposit, but if you have a pet you want to bring with you, you can just look around for leases that are pet friendly.

Here are some pictures of pets owned by me or my friends.

Buffs are dancing

Thursday, March 21, 2013

As is common knowledge, March is the best sports month of the year. Today marks the first day of the NCAA tournament this year. Already we have seen a few upsets, and as I am writing this, the Pac-12 sits at 1-0 with an Oregon upset over Oklahoma State.

Tomorrow, the Buffs are playing Illinois in Austin, TX. For the first time in 50 years, the Buffs have made the NCAA tournament for consecutive years. Naturally, I am really excited about this, and I am looking for the Buffs to pull it's second first round upset in as many years.

Peyton F. Manning (The F is for...)

Thursday, March 14, 2013

On Tuesday the Broncos signed Wes Welker to kick off NFL free agency. In case you somehow missed the biggest story in football this last year, the Broncos also have Peyton.

I have had the good fortune of actually seeing Peyton play live, and let me tell you, his throwing motion is as close to bliss as anything I've ever seen. It's like watching honey slowly slide down a wall, golden, sweet, and fluid. Truly lovely.

I didn't have much to write about this week, but I was searching through my old photos and I came across an awesome picture that prompted this week's blog.

I am coming to you live from Boise, Idaho (which, as a side thought, is a very nice city).

Ralphie

Friday, February 22, 2013

We are very proud of our mascot here at CU. Ralphie is our 1,000 pound female Buffalo. We can't have a male Buff because the males are literally too big and mean, thus posing a potential safety hazard. That said, Ralphie is still a great tradition for us.

Boulder Public Art

Wednesday, February 13, 2013

In case you haven't noticed by now, I really love Boulder.

One of my favorite aspects is all the public art we have around this city. I have always been a huge proponent of public art, and as some of my friends can attest to, I used to build pieces of public art at parties. I think things like the Bean in Chicago, or the "Love" sculpture in Philadelphia can add a lot of character to a city, and Boulder does have it's fair share, although I do wish that some were displayed more prominently.

The Lost Glory of N64

Thursday, February 7, 2013

Last year I came in as a freshman, choosing not to bring a TV or game system because I assumed that enough other people in the dorms would bring them. Well, I was correct. There were plenty of TV's and video games to go around. I got really good at FIFA, and to my pleasant surprise, Super Smash Bros.

Team Deep Threat

Saturday, January 26, 2013

There are certain things that deserve their own folklore, and there are certain things that do not. My buddies and I are members of an indoor soccer team known as Team Deep Threat. Team Deep Threat is something that is undeserving of lore.
