Outdoor Climbing Attempt #1

Wednesday, March 14, 2012

This past weekend I tried outdoor climbing for the first time. I should precede this story by explaining that I bouldered (climbing without ropes) for the first time only five weeks ago and learned to top rope only last thursday. So with my vast experience, and by that I mean next to no experience, I trekked out with some friends, all experienced climbers, to a popular spot outside of the town of Lyons, CO.

Spring in Boulder

Tuesday, March 6, 2012

The past few days have been crazy!! Today, Tuesday March 6, the temperature reached around 70 degrees. Having been in some very cold months recently, it may as well have been 90. Everyone was out on whatever field they could find, you would have been hard pressed to look at any patch of grass and not see a football or frisbee flying through the air or people laying in the sun studying or chatting. I was even wearing a tank top today and got a sun burn!

Visit And Basketball

Tuesday, February 28, 2012

This past week was great because my dad came to visit!! My dad is one of my favorite people ever and it's always so much fun to have him here. We went out to a delicious dinner (at The Med on Pearl St.) and then I brought him to the CU-Boulder versus Stanford basketball game.

Exploring The Flatirons

Wednesday, February 15, 2012

This weekend was awesome! The weather was great-- sunny per usual with snow on the ground. A friend and I decided to do some exploring of the Flatirons which we see everyday and love to hike in. We decided, this time, to start not at our usual Chataqua (the base for many of the hiking trails frequented by CU Boulder students and Boulderites alike) but to drive up Flagstaff Road and find a trail head a bit further up. We found one that looked inviting and were amazed with how beautiful the view was after every turn in the trail.

Young Life

Wednesday, February 8, 2012

I don't know if any of you have heard of Young Life before, if you haven't, I'll tell you a little bit about it. It is a faith based organization that operates nationwide with the goal of reaching out to young people. It provides a fun place and community to make friends, play games, and build a relationship with God. I was involved in it all through highschool and just started coming to college Young Life at the start of this semester and have already made some of my closest friends.
