Hello!

I’m currently writing from my new apartment in the Spanish Towers in Boulder, Colorado. I could not be happier to be back.

Being back in Boulder means that the end of the summer is just around the corner, and this means that I will have to say goodbye to my job at the Capitol.

How do I say goodbye to a job that had the best hours, gave me great experience and was in a prime location? Luckily, I have Boulder to come home to so I suppose it will make the goodbyes a little easier.

In case you haven’t noticed, I love Colorado. I love everything there is to do in Colorado, I love the mountains, I love pride, and this summer I grew to love the feeling of Colorado community. This has been an unusually hot and hard summer. Fires and tragedies called attention to our state internationally, but so did our pride.

August 1^st is Colorado Day.

By now most you of, regardless of whether you are freshman, returning students or transfers, are probably getting really excited to move to Boulder. Maybe you’re moving into a residence hall or your first apartment, but I can guarantee that you’re probably wondering how in the world you are going to bring all of your stuff up to school. Clothes, bedding, and supplies…oh my!

Hello all! I cannot believe that it is nearly mid-July. Soon I will be saying goodbye to Denver, my job at the Colorado State Capitol, and summer and hello to Boulder, my new apartment and my Senior year.  I just cannot believe it! But I am extremely excited to get back to Boulder. Not just back to Boulder, but back to school! I know being excited to go back to school might make me strange, but it isn’t strange when you attend a university like CU.

This week, we celebrated America’s 236^th birthday. It was so nice to not only have a day off in the middle of the week, but to also take time to appreciate all that America is.

Call it American Exceptionalism, call it Nationalism, call it whatever, but I am proud to be an American.

When I dream about what I will do after I graduate I dream of myself in fancy working women clothes, flying in a private jet, writing foreign policy that will change the world...I even dream of myself as being the Secretary of State.

Today, I was on the road at 6am driving from Denver to Colorado Springs for jury duty. Waking up early, commuting and participating in this particular civic duty could be a recipe for a severe case of the Mondays for some, but I enjoyed it. I25 greeted me with sunshine and I didn’t mind the views one bit.

I love Colorado.

Summertime is in full swing! 

This summer has been such an adventure already.
