Tasty Treats

Thursday, January 29, 2015

Hello friends,

When I agreed to start writing this blog, I was tasked with sharing a small glimpse of daily life at CU to all of you, the Internet. Thus far, I have shared many of my weekly adventures, but I realized that I haven't really written many blogs about my day-to-day life. So, I will now begin an endeavor to share with the masses my favorite daily activities, and for those of you that know me, you will understand that there is only natural place for me to start: ice cream.

Career Fair Tips

Thursday, January 29, 2015

Hi Folks,

As a graduating senior, I am slowly beginning to feel the press of my impending post-grad life. One of the most stressful parts of this is the job search. Personally, I have had a reasonably successful collegiate career, and I have a small number of promising job prospects. However, that is not to say that I have allowed myself to feel too smug.

5 semesters- Completed!

Friday, December 19, 2014

Hi everyone!

I'm DONE! 5 finals, 1 10 page paper, done. 2 grades are in, I'm waiting on 3. Now I can take a breath, and sleep until a later time in the morning besides 7:30am. Things are good.

Life as an Out of Stater

Thursday, December 18, 2014

When I was applying to colleges, I didn't know exactly where I wanted to go but I did know that I wanted to get out of California. This isn't because I hate being from California but just because I knew that I needed to see what my other options could be. My freshman year roommate was also from California, which helped me to realize that I would be able to easily make friends because not everyone would know everyone.

Picking Your Major

Wednesday, December 17, 2014

Picking your major is a hard decision. Sorry if that seems a little obvious and blunt, but it's true. Picking something that you're going to study for the next four years or possibly the rest of your life is a big decision. But the good news is, you don't have to stick to one thing. Some schools that I applied to, you had to declare your major on your application and you were admitted into that program and it was near impossible to change. Luckily for me, CU Boulder is not like that and it is not as hard as some schools.

Finals Week

Tuesday, December 16, 2014

Finals week is finally here and I still can't believe how fast this past semester has gone. Since the last time I took finals was in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean while tanning, needless to say I've had a hard time focusing on these finals. This is the first time in a few years that I have had all five of my finals during finals week, since they are usually spread out over the last few weeks of school. Managing your time is incredibly important during finals week. Here are a few pointers of how to get through finals.

Study Break

Monday, December 15, 2014

Hi everyone!

1 Final Down, 4 To Go!

This morning I decided to take the healthiest of study breaks, and finally go to the gym. Research shows that exercising frequently can contribute to better test scores and better information retention.  Or at least that's what everyone says! If you aren't studying, and you aren't sleeping or eating a meal, the best thing you can do for yourself is work out.

The Finals Struggle

Sunday, December 14, 2014

Hi All,

Finals start today... which is both exciting and scary at the same time. I have a pretty heavy load of finals this semester. I have 5. Most people have fewer than that... but I have heard of some poor people who have 6.
